Our Philosophy
Translation is not just converting words or phrases from one language into another. It is the part-science, part-art craft of writing freely, tapping into the full expressive power of human language, to convey ideas from a source language and culture, in a different language and culture.
Because a translator’s audience is different from the audience of the author, translators must adapt the information to a different set of circumstances.
This requires:
- Understanding what the author’s goals are and making sure they are well served
- Preserving not just the content, but the spirit of each text
- Making sure the information is culturally appropriate and geared towards the reader
- Writing at the right literacy level and style for each target audience
And this is what we specialize in.
